When we enter this world we are not born into Life, on the contrary we are born into death. When we enter into this earthly life we are coming from Life, so how can we enter it when we already have it? The Immortal Being who we are, has never been born and will never die. So who or what is being born?

It is the personality which is born into this world of duality through the use of a physical body of matter. The  personality needs to have a body to use as its vehicle in order for it to come into existence in matter and to experience all the delights and agonies of the senses. Its stay here on the stage of life is only a temporary one and once the purpose of its journey on earth has been accomplished, the body will die and so will the personality.

It is this life here on earth which is the altered reality and when the personality dies to its dream, the immortal spark which is our Higher Self, will return to its Soul Being that which we really are.

Once born into time and duality, the personality is automatically born into mortality through its entry into death; life and death are two sides of the same coin, one begets the other. Because the personality is born only once it has no past nor does it have a future, for birth has doomed it to death and extinction. The personality is only a shadow being which does not contain an independent life force as it has no direct connection to the Divine Creator; its existence comes directly from its Mother, the Soul Being who sustains its physical body and directs its earth journey.

Just as the Divine Creator endowed the Soul Being with Eternal Life, the Soul Being gives temporary life to its personalities. During the time that a physical body is forming within the human womb, the Soul Being who was given the power to create its personalities by the Divine Creator, injects a spark of its Life Force into the fetus and that minute spark which contains the very same essence as that of the Immortal Soul, animates and creates the personality. 

It is when the Soul Being reclaims its spark of Life from the personality, that the personality dies. The personality is not in the “hands of God” it is in the hands of its Mother the Soul Being and yes, the Soul Being can also rightfully be called our guardian angel. 

The Soul Being experiences life in matter through its personalities. The Soul is bodiless and has its Beingness within a different vibrational frequency and therefore cannot enter matter; it does so indirectly by forming the personality through which it can then experience the material senses of bodily life. The Soul Being also continues to evolve but since the realm of the Soul Being is static, no change and growth is possible there — it uses the personality’s experiences for its growth. The Soul and the personality thus have a symbiotic relationship, while yet at the same time they are also one and the same in the sense that you, the spark within the personality are also the spark of the Soul Being.

There is only one Life Force and that is the Divine Creative Consciousness. It is the same force which activates and sustains all of life no matter which form that life takes. That spark which created and supports the personality is you, also known as the Higher Self, and when you vacate the material body, you who are a part of the Entirety of the Soul Being, will again unite with the Allness of the Soul who is also you. Therefore, the Divine Creator, the Soul Being and you, the Higher Self — are all part of the same Immortal Consciousness — for there is only ONE and all that has existence belongs to that ONE.

Who you really are is an Immortal Being - you were never born and will never die, for you are at One with the Divine Creator, the Divine Consciousness, and you the spark within the personality belong to this Immortality. The Divine Consiousness not only supports all of Life and Existence but IS itself all of Life and Existence. All that exists, exists within the Divine Consciousness. As soon as you understand the role of the mortal personality you will recognize that the physical body is not you and that the personaliy and the mind is also not you but that it is the Divine Spark within the body which is you. As soon as that understanding occurs, you will at that very moment begin dying to your death. From now on your awareness of the reality of the glorious existence which awaits you beyond the body, will always light the path in front of you no matter how dark or steep.

Now, how does one come to recognize and understand who this "you" is?  The recognition of who this you is, comes through experiencing a second birth while in this world of matter. This second birth is your real birth because it awakens you to your true identity, which is that you are an immortal Being. This second birth is a birth into a new consciousness — the consciousness of your Higher Self. The personality who you thought you self to be, is only your lower self living within a narrow and dark consciousness: whereas the consciousness of your Higher Self is full of Light and Joy and embraces Higher Values. Dying to the old consciousness of your lower self personality means that there will now occur a reversal in consciousness - your awareness will now shift away from the lower self consciousness each time that you identify with your Higher Self.

This shift is a nanosecond shift you are not aware of the shifting process. As soon as you have identified with your Higher Self, the lower self consciousness moves out of your existence. You will continue to experience these reversals of  the two consciousnesses and your awareness will continue to fluctuate back and forth between the two. The more effort you make stay and to have your Beingness within the consciousness of your Higher Self, the more frequent and stronger its force will become. Gradually over time, there will come that moment when you, the former lower self of your personality will die forever to the lower consciousness for it will have lost its command over you; you have now become permanently wrapped in the mantle of the finer vibrations of the Higher Self Consciousness.

You will still live, move and have your Being in this material world and continue to give Caesar his due but you are no longer of this world — you may still be physically in it but now your awareness is looking into the lower self world from the “outside”; you are now an objective watcher viewing it from a distance. You, the Higher Self will now finish life here on earth with a renewed sense of purpose and strength and a commitment to use your earthly days more wisely, for you now understand the importance and the purpose of this life in the physical realm and appreciate the gift of having been given a physical birth in matter and duality. You can also now proclaim - O Death, where is thy sting?

Since you are now no longer looking through the eyes of your lower self personality from where you once perceived death to be your enemy but view death through the eyes of your Higher Self, you now understand that death is your friend; a friend who will liberate you from bondage to a body grown old or one full of illness and suffering or simply because your mission for this present life has been fulfilled. Death is your friend because Death opens the gateway which makes it possible for you to go Home again. It is Death that returns you to Life.  

When you enter the final transition for the crossing-over towards Home, the weight of the body will slowly start receding from your awareness as will the material senses. You will begin to oscillate back and forth between the material earthbound consciousness and the transcendent consciousness. Your stay in the earthbound consciousness will become shorter and dimmer and gradually, you the dreamer, will begin to lose your identity with the dream: while in turn, each stay on the shores of the transcendent realm will become longer and to begin to have more reality than the dream you are leaving. 

When that occurs all sense of fear will have slipped away, for by now you will have realized that there is nothing to fear; then there will occur a quiet and peaceful “let go” of the dream life which you had participated in. Birth and death are also unreal and another part of the dream illusion but both are necessary components for the personality’s existence, for it is through the portal of birth that the personality enters the realm of the physical world and it is the arrival of death which dissolves it. Death is the liberator who frees you from your lower self personality by setting free the Divine Spark within the physical body and once disconnected from the body, the dream world also disappears.

It is Death which allows you to return to your Soul Being. All within the dream and the dream itself, is an illusion produced by the mind but  mind is only another substance of matter, it too has no permanent life and is just another part of the mortal dream.  It is difficult for the lower self to contemplate that the mind itself, which looms so large and which  is such a constant presence within our awareness  and with whom we have a continuous connection of dialog, is not who we really are. How could the lower self doubt its omnipotent existence, as it seems to be the very fabric of our Beingness and from the vantage point from within the dream, the lower self could never be convinced that mind is not needed in order to Be or that the True Realiy is the Light-of-Pure-Consciousness, which can only be found beyond mind and that the Being who we are is a part of this Consciousness-of-Light.

The whole purpose for our journey in this dream realm of matter and duality is to learn needed lessons so that we can find and purify the dark places still existing within us. Most lessons learned come mainly through our relationships with others and through the unique and diverse dynamics which are at play within each relationship. One of the most important values to learn and one of the most difficult, is to be able to love others unconditionally but we can do this only if we have first learned to love our own self unconditionally. This can be accomplished by a calm and unjudgemental acceptance of all our imperfections and through our ability to be as kind and forgiving to our self as we would be to others. We need to let others know how we truly feel about them but unfortunately we often wait until it’s too late to do so - too late to express our feelings of love, unfinished animosities, feelings of guilt or regrets, for until we have confronted, acknowledged and purged those feelings within our self we cannot begin to change them.

It is only through our willingness to change that we can begin to communicate with others in the full light of truth and to meet each other Soul to Soul instead of only from the surface of our personalities. It is only then — when Soul meets Soul — that we can begin to heal our relationships and consequently our self.  At the time of our crossing over or at the time of someone else’s dying, there is yet that one final opportunity to express our Soul-felt feelings and to try to mend and heal emotional wounds which have kept both parties in a relationship from meeting each other in truth and love. If after attempts at reconciliation are rejected by the other's mindset, then one need no longer feel any responsibility - that now belongs to them.

Their failure to respond in a positive way to our reaching out, might leave us with a feeling of sadness because the negative issues between us could not be resolved and the relationship healed before we parted but one does not need not have any feelings of regret or guilt, for the choice made was theirs. One can do no more, after having reached out in love and compassion to others or asked for forgiveness from those who we have wronged. We can now be at peace and embark on our transition from this world into our Immortal Life without a burden or a sorrow to impede our leave taking: serenity and yes, even joy can accompany our final moments on this earth. 

When the vacating of our body is almost complete and the time of our crossing-over is at hand, the journey HOME will be swift and sure.  We need only to surrender all our fears and worries, and within that instant of trust and peacefulness, the soft shining Light of Unconditional Love and Unconditional Acceptance will appear and we will merge once again into the ALLNESS of the ALL.
